My inspiration for publishing Vivacity Magazine was my Mother (photo insert), as I reached out to protect her, I realized many seniors often take a back seat through our legal and healthcare system in place. I didn't know or understand how to protect someone I loved.

I made a promise to my Mother before she passed on − that I would help our generation of baby boomers through education and resources in caring for one another and to help an aging parent before a crisis takes place.

As a baby boomer myself, I learned after a family crisis there are certain situations one is not prepared for. Living out of State from an aging parent is hard − but I should have been prepared with sibling rivalry, caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s, and how to keep someone you love from experiencing elder abuse that so many elderly parents endure because they can not speak for themselves or afraid to speak out because of retaliation.

The Baby Boomer Generation − All 78 Million of Us − need to acknowledge that WE are the elderly of tomorrow! We need to learn and understand all the changes that are about to take place in the 2nd half of our life.
